PERFORMANCE

3D Gait Analysis

3D Running gait analysis for distance athletes (800m and up) who want to improve their running economy, prevent injuries and get faster.

GET YOUR ANALYSIS

3D Running Gait

Running Economy is good predictor of performances in distance events. Basically Running Economy is a measure of the amount of energy required to move 1kg of body mass 1m forward.

Inefficiencies in your biomechanics and running stride mean that you require more energy for each step resulting in a higher Running Economy and a suffering performance. By correcting your running stride and reducing your inefficiencies you can lower your Running Economy and improve your performances from 800m through to Ultra’s.

PREVENT INJURY

Why get a 3D gait analysis?

When injured, runners tend to blame their running form and start looking for ways to correct what they perceive to be poor running mechanics.

In our experience it’s not running form that creates injuries, but rather, imbalances in the body. This can be seen when you look not only at elite runners but at the fast array of unique running styles crossing the finish line at a race, you see runners winning and crossing the finish line with the most awkward looking styles. When the body is in a balanced state, ie) when the systems of the body are all balanced and working like they should, the body is able to adapt to running and a runners individual style without injury. For more info on how we can help with injuries head to our Healing services page.

The real benefit of a 3D Running Gait Analysis is to enhance biomechanic efficiency. When a runner is less than efficient excessive energy is wasted in overcoming the inefficient movements. Through a gait analysis and working  with our knowledgeable coach to identify and improve efficiency, energy can be better directed and used to run fast.
